Lighter and cheaper !
As its name suggests, the Zephyr UPE85/CZ is made of a UPE85 structure (85 gr/m2) and a canopy made of 30% Dyneema (34gr/m2) and 70% CZ05 (72gr/m2).
Despite its exceptional lightness, the Zephyr V2 in UPE remains extremely rigid and keeps its unmatched durability. All the experience acquired on the assembly of Dyneema wings is used on the UPE85 wings which allows to climb to high inflation pressures and therefore to obtain excellent rigidity.
The Zephyr V2 with its UPE85 structure is on average 120 gr lighter than its big sister in Dyneema. The UPE85/CZ model is aimed at riders looking for the wing that can do everything: surfing, jumping, freestyle, racing. This ultra-light little bomb is the versatile wing par excellence.
Its interchangeable handles allow you to choose between soft, semi-rigid, 100% rigid handles or even the carbon wishbone.

What's new on the La Zephyr V2 ?
The V2 version of our all-purpose wing The Zephyr features several improvements such as:

reduced leading edge and central strut diameters to save weight but also aerodynamic flow,
-
slight increase in the dihedral in order to gain in low range,
-
SUP type valves,
-
modifying the tensions in the canopy in order to have better pumping in the start-up phases,
-
new extra-light bladder attachment system,
-
an internal dacron reinforcement system which stiffens the entire wing and better holds the profile,
-
a reinforced 30% Dyneema 34gr/m2 and 70% CZ05 72gr/m2 canopy,
-
weight of V2 reduced compared to V1.

Zephyr V2 - UPE85/CZ program ?
The UPE85/CZ is a version of the Zephyr with a CZ05 canopy, making the wing more reinforced and more rigid than the UPE85/Dyneema version. It is aimed at practitioners looking for a high-end, high-performance wing for all disciplines. It remains one of the lightest wings on the market despite its durable construction and materials.
The shape and design of the wing are exactly the same for all versions of the Zephyr (Full Dyneema / UPE85 / CZ Edition / ZL Edition).
The UPE85/CZ program is therefore versatility ! Whether you are a surfer, a freefly enthusiast or a freestyler and want to push your limits, this wing is made for you. Its thin leading edges and its power also makes it an excellent racing sail.

The system for holding the leading edge bladder has also been modified. The zippers have been removed to save weight and the bladder is held by a mini-leash on either side of the wing. The system is ultra-light and further reduces the weight of the Zephyr.
The Zephyr Wing V2 UPE85/CZ is available in a single color of UPE85. The CZ canopy is available in white and black.
With its Technora Black X-Ply reinforcements and despite its lightness, the UPE85 provides incomparable rigidity. It follows that an inflation pressure of 8 PSI is sufficient to obtain a very rigid wing.

Possible handle options:
It is possible to order your Zephyr Wing with:
- soft handles,
- semi-rigid handles,
- 100% rigid handles,
- the carbon wishbone but without inserts in the middle. You can no longer put handles but the wing is also lighter because there are no 2 inserts in the middle and the corresponding internal reinforcements.
- The carbon wishbone but with the 2 inserts in the middle. This option allows you to navigate with the wishbone but also to put soft, semi-rigid or 100% rigid handles. When mounting the wishbone, the 2 inserts in the center are hidden with dedicated covers.
- Deflate Wing paddle attachments for those who want to Deflate with their Zephyr Wing.

A different fiber orientation.
After multiple tests on the UPE85, we positioned the fibers of the material so as to recover the tangential forces to the cylinders of the inflatable structure. This allows to obtain an increased rigidity at equal pressure, compared to an orientation of the fibers in the axial direction of the cylinders of the inflatable structure.
Despite a pressure of 8 PSI, the Zephyr V2 in UPE85 has exceptional stability in navigation and freefly. Its performance and its glide in the air make it even easier and faster. It's another world !
Lighter and cheaper !
This is the promise of our UPE85 range. This new material manufactured by Dimension Polyant is entirely designed and dedicated for the wing. UPE is a laminated material, it obtains very resistant seams and therefore allows higher inflation pressures. Its induction protects it from UVs and gives it a shiny appearance.
With its 85 gr/m2 it is lighter than Dyneema which allows us to push the limits further and obtain even lighter sails.

Ideal for surfing.
The lightness of the Zephyr Wing V2 makes it a surf and freefly weapon. Being one of the lightest wings on the market, it is completely forgotten when freeflying. The extra-light canopy allows for very little weight at the end of the central strut. Thus the vertical force of the weight generated at the end of the central strut is reduced and the wing flies much more easily. Its stability is also significantly improved.
Fans of long descents of swell surfing or even in real rolling waves, the Zephyr V2 allows you to concentrate 100% on your surfing and your trajectories.


UPE85 and CZ: lighter and cheaper !
At equivalent weight, CZ05 is much more robust than spinnaker. It is an excellent material for wing canopies that are subjected to multiple, sometimes very significant, stresses. UPE85 allows you to keep a high-end wing while offering a more affordable price than Dyneema.
These 2 materials allow to push back once again the limit of the weight of the wings. Without even speaking about the shape, the dihedral and other design, a light wing and a wing which de facto flies well.
New boom attachment system.
A new system consisting of a slide and an M6 torx screw allows the carbon wishbone to be disassembled and assembled in no time. It is therefore possible to assemble paddle attachments or rigid handles very quickly, or to disassemble its carbon boom to optimize transport.

This new slide system is not compatible with soft and semi-rigid handles.


Rigid freefly handle*.
Available as an option, the rigid freefly handle is a real plus for surfing and freefly enthusiasts.
Indeed, during radical surfing phases, the wing follows you perfectly and its control is optimized thanks to the rigid handle. It is very effective for surfing conditions where the wind is onshore or side/on. Combined with the remarkable stability of the Zephyr Wings, this rigid freefly handle is a game-changer.
You become one with your wing and this allows you to concentrate 100% on surfing !

Soft, semi-rigid, 100% rigid handles or boom... the choice is yours !
Our handle fixing system allows you to change the type of handle used very quickly. An 8 socket wrench or a torx wrench identical to the one used on your and you're done in 5 minutes! More freestyle or slalom ? Or even a former windsurfer ? Use the carbon wishbone on your Zephyr Wing. The comfort and ease of navigation provided for the boom is phenomenal ! Are you looking for the ideal wing for surfing? Opt for the soft or semi-rigid handles and lighten your wing for an even more sensational freefly !
The Zephyr Wing comes standard with rigid handles. It is possible to replace them with soft, semi-rigid handles or the wishbone. It is also possible to order the wing with wishbone only without the 2 middle inserts for handles.


100% Made In France.
By purchasing a Zephyr Wing you are supporting the local economy. In order of the manufacturing process, here is the French production chain:

the materials are laser cut by a partner in La Rochelle,

the fabrics are glued and sewn by 3 independent workshops in the south of France,

the bladders are made in Trappes by Michelin,
-
the insignia logos are made by a French company,
-
the bags are made in France by an independent workshop,

3D parts are made in France,
-
sewing machines are purchased in French stores,

All haberdashery (thread, double-sided rolls, insignia, needle) is purchased from a company based in France.


Undyed fabrics.
The fabrics on our wings are kept as they left the factory and are therefore not painted or dyed. All types of Dyneema® used retain their original appearance, highlighting their natural color.

The same eco-friendly approach is used for the ZL02 Aramid Black, where no logo is painted.

This strategic choice is in line with our values and allows us to drastically reduce the consumption of water, energy and CO2 emissions.
A sustainable wing.
At Zephyr Wing, we are aware of the environmental impact that our sport and our passion have. This is why we manufacture our sails in France as close as possible to the user and we source as much as possible with materials manufactured in Europe. The CO2 footprint of our wings is thus significantly lower compared to another wing on the market.
We are proud to be the only brand to master the wing manufacturing in France.

Recycled plastic parts.
All 3D printed parts are manufactured in France by specialized French companies.
These pieces use 100% post-industrial recycled materials incorporated. This initiative not only helps reduce plastic waste, but also supports the circular economy by reusing existing materials.


Bio-based Dyneema®.
Dyneema® is bio-based, which means that part of its composition comes from natural material. By recovering waste from the wood and pulp industries, these bio-based raw materials are mixed with fossil raw materials in the manufacturing process to produce ethylene.

Bio-based Dyneema® has the lowest carbon footprint per unit of strength compared to other synthetic fibers.
A sustainable product.
With the choice of using Dyneema® "The Zephyr Wing" we seek to develop a standard of durability on our products. Indeed with these noble materials, the structure of the wing deforms much less over time and it is therefore possible to keep it much longer than a classic wing. In addition, the design of the Zephyr sails is made to use an inflation pressure of around 7 PSI which is not excessive and also contributes to the longevity of the product.
We are therefore pushing for a responsible consumption model where the user keeps their sail for a long time and does not replace it every season.
